The Lyuben Karavelov Higher School of Civil Engineering - Sofia is the legal successor of the specialized military engineering civil engineering school, established in 1938 by a Decree of NV Tsar Boris III.

Higher School of Civil Engineering “L. Karavelov ”is a state specialized higher school.

Its public mission is:

• to train Bulgarian and foreign citizens for acquiring higher education in the professional field "Architecture, Construction and Geodesy";
• to maintain a European dimension in student learning;
  to carry out research and applied-practical activity in the field of construction and architecture;
• to carry out qualification activity.
  Higher School of Civil Engineering “L. Karavelov ”has a long tradition in the training of specialists with higher education in the field of construction and offers students training at a modern level.

During the period of its existence, the school has provided education to more than:

• 5 100 specialists

• above 300 foreign nationals

Today Higher School of Civil Engineering “L. Karavelov ”prepares highly qualified construction personnel of all educational and qualification degrees - “ professional bachelor ”,“ bachelor ”,“ master ”and“ doctor ”.

The school develops research and applied-practical activities . Maintains international contacts and carries out student and teacher exchanges with universities in the European Community.
